What is the measure of wealth of a country?

Question by : What is the measure of wealth of a country?
I was under the impression that GDP was the measure for this. But then I realized that GDP was just an estimate for the total economic output of a country for the year.

It's like miles/kilometers per hour. Output per year.

Is there a measure for the accumulated wealth within a country at any given time? Or would that be impractical?
@Mo321 I've seen both documentaries and I wasn't interested in that.
