Funny how weeds grow so fast! In the time grass struggles to rise up from winter's effects, weeds can dominate a yard. You can apply that same thought to bad habits, too. In the time it takes to develop good, productive habits, quite a few bad habits can literally become entrenched. They'll have to be rooted out in order for the good ones to come back strong. Just sayin'.
