Andrés Eloy Blanco, a Venezuelan poet wrote the poem and the Mexican singer, Pedro Infante wrote the music to fit the poem. Although we are receiving a few negative comments from a few people, the song is performed purely for entertainment value. One of the highlights of Amapola's concert repertoire - the story of a black angel - "Angelitos Negros" performed live at the Venetian Room of the Fairmont Hotel, San Francisco, California with the Steve Lee Orchestra.
